The Department of Commerce, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized EVOLVE 2026, a series of non-technical events, on 04 August 2026 at Gallery Hall–I. The Seed Ball Preparation and Dispersal Programme, organized as part of Van Mahotsav Week 2026, was successfully conducted on 6 and 7 July 2026 by the Department of Commerce (PA, ISM & IAF), Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, in association with NSS. The programme aimed to promote environmental sustainability, afforestation, biodiversity conservation, and student participation in ecological initiatives. The Women’s Grievance and Redressal Cell, in association with the Department of Commerce – PA, ISM & IAF and the Tech Warriors Club, organized an awareness workshop on “Stay Safe Online: Cyber Security Awareness for Women in Digital World” on 6 February 2026 at the AV Hall. The session was conducted for I B.Com PA, ISM, and IAF students and focused on building awareness about online safety, cyber threats, and responsible digital practices for women in today’s connected world. Mr. Kasi Dharan T, Training Officer, Magic Bus India Foundation, Chennai, served as the guest speaker and shared practical guidance on identifying cyber risks, protecting personal information, using digital platforms safely, and responding to online harassment or fraudulent activities. The workshop aimed to empower students with the knowledge and confidence needed to navigate the digital space securely, responsibly, and with greater awareness of cyber security challenges.

The Department of Commerce, under the Faculty of Science and Humanities at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized COMMEX ’26 – Digital Defenders, a national-level inter-collegiate event, on 6 February 2026 at the TRP Auditorium. The event was conducted for UG and PG students from across India and centered on the theme of digital awareness, cybersecurity, and responsible participation in the online world. Designed as a competitive and knowledge-driven platform, Digital Defenders aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of digital threats, cyber safety practices, and the importance of secure digital behaviour in an increasingly technology-driven society. Industrial Visit to Chennai Port Trust
