Objective of the Event

·       To create awareness among students about cyber threats and online security risks.

·       To educate participants on safe and responsible digital practices.

·       To enhance awareness of cyber fraud, unauthorized transactions, and common online scams.

·       To promote responsible use of digital platforms, online banking, and payment services.

·       To empower students with practical knowledge to protect their personal information and maintain digital trust.

SUMMARY OF THE EVENT

The “CYBER SMART: Awareness of Cyber Threats and Safe Digital Practices” event was organized by the Community Care Club, Department of Commerce, School of Humanities, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus. The session was conducted on 3 September 2026 for I Year B.Com General Shift 1 students. 

The event featured Ms. Narmatha Parthipan, Vice President – Credit Intelligence and Control, HDFC Bank, as the guest speaker. The session focused on creating awareness about cyber threats, digital fraud, unauthorized transactions, online security, and safe digital practices. It provided students with valuable industry-oriented insights into protecting personal information and using digital payment platforms responsibly. The interaction helped students understand the importance of cyber awareness, fraud prevention, risk management, and digital trust in today’s technology-driven environment.
