Industrial Visit to Lotte India Corporation

The Department of Commerce – Shift II & Corporate Secretaryship, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a two-day Industrial Visit to Lotte India Corporation Limited on 10th and 11th July 2026. The visit provided students with practical exposure to manufacturing processes, quality control, supply chain management, and corporate operations. VAN MAHOTSAV

The Seed Ball Preparation and Dispersal Programme, organized as part of Van Mahotsav Week 2026, was successfully conducted on 6 and 7 July 2026 by the Department of Commerce (PA, ISM & IAF), Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, in association with NSS. The programme aimed to promote environmental sustainability, afforestation, biodiversity conservation, and student participation in ecological initiatives. B.Com ISM students actively participated in preparing seed balls using native tree seeds and dispersing them across lake areas, public parks, and temple premises. The two-day initiative provided students with practical environmental learning while encouraging teamwork, community engagement, and a strong sense of responsibility towards nature.

The visit was arranged to provide students with practical exposure to port operations, logistics management, and the functioning of one of the country’s major maritime trade hubs. During the visit, students gained insight into cargo handling procedures, shipping and transportation systems, import–export documentation processes, and the role of ports in supporting domestic and international trade. The industrial visit helped students connect classroom learning with real-world business and logistics practices, while also broadening their understanding of supply chain operations, infrastructure management, and career opportunities in the shipping and commerce sectors.

The programme was designed to introduce students to the application of artificial intelligence tools in management accounting, highlighting how technology can support modern accounting practices, decision-making, financial analysis, and data handling.
