Objective of the Event

The primary objective of the guest lecture on "Cracking the First Job: A Roadmap for Final Year Success" was to equip final-year B.Com students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to successfully transition from academics to the professional world. The Department of Commerce, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai Ramapuram, under the Corporate Advisory Club, organized a Guest Lecture on "Cracking the First Job: A Roadmap for Final Year Success" on 06.07.2026 from 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. at East Block 101. The programme was conducted exclusively for III Year B.Com students with the objective of preparing them for campus placements and helping them understand the essential skills required to secure their first job in today's competitive employment market. The session featured eminent industry experts Mr. A. Rajkumar, SBU Head, University of Madras, Mr. A.R. Nallathambi, Founder & President, IAT Solutions, and Ms. Mercy, General Manager, IAT Solutions, who shared their professional experiences and practical insights with the students.

The session commenced with an overview of the current employment landscape and the changing expectations of recruiters across industries. The speakers emphasized that academic excellence alone is no longer sufficient for career success.
