VAN MAHOTSAV

The Seed Ball Preparation and Dispersal Programme, organized as part of Van Mahotsav Week 2026, was successfully conducted on 6 and 7 July 2026 by the Department of Commerce (PA, ISM & IAF), Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, in association with NSS. The programme aimed to promote environmental sustainability, afforestation, biodiversity conservation, and student participation in ecological initiatives. B.Com ISM students actively participated in preparing seed balls using native tree seeds and dispersing them across lake areas, public parks, and temple premises. The Department of Commerce, Faculty of Science and Humanities, organized a One Day Seminar on Digital Marketing on 6 October 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at East Block 110 for 2nd year Commerce UG students. The session was handled by Mr. Karthik Subramanian, Co-Founder, DataDriven Service, who served as the resource person for the programme. The seminar introduced students to the fast-changing world of digital marketing and its growing importance in today’s business environment. It covered key concepts such as online branding, social media promotion, digital advertising strategies, audience engagement, and the role of data in understanding consumer behavior. Through the session, students gained a practical overview of how businesses use digital platforms to build visibility, connect with customers, and drive growth. The programme helped bridge academic learning with current industry practices, giving students a clearer understanding of career opportunities and emerging trends in the digital marketing space.

The event featured distinguished speakers including Mr. Ganesh Gopalan, Founder and CEO, Lissomsoft Technologies, Chennai; Dr. R. Manju Priya, Associate Professor, School of Commerce, Jain Deemed to be University, Bangalore; and Dr. S. S. Mani Prabu, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering, Chennai.
