Psychology and Life Skills Training Programme

The Department of Psychology, School of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, through the NOESIS Psychology Club, conducted a "Psychology & Life Skills Outreach Programme" on "Improving Focus, Learning and Memory" on 3rd September 2026 for 112 Class 10 students at a Government Higher Secondary School, MGR Nagar, Chennai.

Industry Expert Talk & Noesis Psychology Club Inauguration

The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized an Industry Expert Talk on "The Neuroscience of Talk Therapy" for UG Psychology students on 24th July 2026, featuring Ms. Jayasri K. L., Counselling Psychologist and Co-founder of Beluming. The session explored the neuropsychological basis of therapeutic change, including brain-behaviour links, affect labelling, behavioural synchronisation, memory consolidation, and attachment-related priming.

Field Visit- Mithra Special School

The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a Field Visit to Mithra Special School, Chennai, on 17th July 2026 for III Year Psychology students. The visit exposed students to the functioning of a special school and its rehabilitation services, including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Self-Help Skills Training, and Vocational Training, giving them firsthand insight into how such interventions enhance independence, daily functioning, and quality of life for children with special needs.

Industrial Visit – Cancer Institute

The Department of Psychology, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized an Industrial Visit to the Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, Chennai, on 26 July 2025. The visit provided students with valuable insights into psycho-oncology, cancer awareness, social support systems, and the psychological care of patients in healthcare settings.

Becoming a Psychologist: First Step into the World of Minds

An orientation expert talk by psychologist Mrs. Ashwini Rao for first-year B.Sc. Psychology students on the realities, myths and career paths of psychology; 49 students took part.
