The IPL Auction was conducted as part of CYNEX 2026 on 26.09.2026 as an engaging, management-based activity that simulated the real Indian Premier League auction process. Participants experienced the role of franchise owners and made strategic decisions while building their own cricket teams.

CYNEX 2026 – Hackathon

As part of CYNEX’26 – 2nd National Level Symposium, the Department of Cyber Security organised a Hackathon on 26 September 2026 at the Hi-Tech Hall, with the participation of 78 students. The hackathon gave participants an opportunity to apply their technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, creativity and teamwork to develop innovative solutions for the given challenges.

International Research Workshop on “Cyber Security Research: Emerging Trends and Practical Perspectives”

This workshop on Cyber Security Practices and Tools, organized by the Department of Cyber Security at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (Ramapuram), featured resource person Sundararajan Thangaraj, Development Engineer at Comcast India Engineering Centre. The session gave B.Sc. Cyber Security students practical exposure to industry-relevant security tools and best practices, emphasizing hands-on learning, real-world threat awareness, and career-oriented skill development, followed by an interactive Q&A that helped students connect classroom knowledge with professional industry expectations.

Club Inauguration

The Department of Cyber Security, School of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, organized a Club Inauguration on 5th August 2026, with Mr. Nishanth Nalan, Senior Director/Practice Head – Life Sciences, ACL Digital, as the resource person. The Department of Computer Science (Cyber Security) organized a Faculty Immersion Program at Laya Tech Private Limited, Chennai, on 25th July 2026, for 15 faculty members. The program covered enterprise cybersecurity topics including endpoint security, SOC operations, firewall security, OT security, and cloud security through interactive sessions and live demonstrations, successfully bridging academic knowledge with real-world industry practices.

Outreach Program in Association with National Service Scheme (NSS)

The Department of Cyber Security, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (Ramapuram), in association with NSS, organised an Outreach Program at Little Drops Old Age Home, Chennai, on 11 July 2026, where faculty and B.Sc.
