International Women’s Day Celebration – Seminar on “Empowering Women: Leadership, Innovation and Social Transformation
• The Department of Cyber Security, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, successfully organized an International Women’s Day Celebration on 6th March 2026 to commemorate the achievements and contributions of women in society. The program aimed to create awareness about women empowerment, leadership, and gender equality, while inspiring students to recognize the importance of inclusivity and respect.
• The event commenced with the Invocation (Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu), creating a respectful and auspicious beginning to the program.
• The session formally began with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. J. Jebamalar Tamilselvi, Head of the Department of Cyber Security. In her address, she emphasized the significance of celebrating International Women’s Day and highlighted the vital role women play in shaping education, technology, and society.
• Following the welcome address, Dr. S. Thirumagan, Dean, Faculty of Science and Humanities, delivered the Presidential Address, where he encouraged students to recognize the strength and potential of women and to promote equality and mutual respect in all spheres of life.
• The Chief Guest, Dr. Ramya M M, Dean at Agurchand Manmull Jain College, was then formally introduced and honored with a memento as a token of appreciation for her presence and contribution.
• During her Special Address, Dr. Ramya M M delivered an inspiring talk focusing on Women Equality, Empathy, Empowerment, and Leadership. She highlighted how women have been making significant contributions across various domains including education, technology, and social development. She emphasized that gender equality is essential for building a progressive and inclusive society.
• She also spoke about the importance of empathy in leadership, encouraging students to support and uplift one another. Her speech motivated students to believe in their abilities, develop confidence, and become agents of positive change in society. The address strongly emphasized empowering women through education, innovation, and leadership opportunities.
• The session also included a cultural performance by the Campus Life Team, who presented a melodious song celebrating the spirit and strength of women, adding vibrancy and enthusiasm to the celebration.
• The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. S. Chitra, Assistant Professor, Department of Cyber Security. She expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their valuable presence and contribution to the success of the event.
• The celebration concluded with the National Anthem, marking the successful completion of the International Women’s Day program.
