Summary of the event
As part of CYBERNOVA 2026 - Cyber Awareness Month, the Department of Cyber Security, in association with the Social Media Club, organized the Cyber Awareness Program "Voice for Digital Safety" on 24 September 2026. The initiative was conducted to create awareness about safe and responsible digital practices among students from various departments.
Students of the Department of Cyber Security visited the classrooms of different departments and delivered short awareness sessions on strong password practices, phishing and online scams, social engineering, protection of personal information, safe use of social media, suspicious links and emails, device security, and responsible digital behaviour.
The interactive classroom-based approach helped students from non-cybersecurity disciplines understand common cyber threats and the precautions they can follow day to day. The programme served as a peer-to-peer cyber awareness initiative, and the session ended with students taking a pledge to be responsible users in the digital space.
