Bio

Dr. Chitra S is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science with specialization in Cyber Security) at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, Chennai. She possesses over 20 years of teaching experience and has established as an educator and researcher in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, and Cryptography. 

She completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science from Pondicherry University, followed by an M.Phil. from Bharathidasan University and an M.Tech. in Network & Internet Engineering from Pondicherry University, where she was awarded a Gold Medal. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Vels University in 2023. 

Her research contributions include publications in reputed international journals, IEEE conferences, book chapters, and patents focusing on AI-enabled healthcare, chronic disease prediction, IoT applications, quantum computing, and cybersecurity. She has guided student research projects, coordinated academic and internship programs, and actively participates in national and international conferences and faculty development initiatives.

Dr. Chitra is passionate about fostering innovation through interdisciplinary research and mentoring students to develop practical solutions using emerging technologies. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes experiential learning, industry relevance, ethical computing, and research-oriented education, preparing students to excel in academia and industry.
