Mrs. M. Poomani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cyber Security at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, Chennai. With 19 years of academic experience, she has developed expertise in teaching and mentoring students across core computing domains while fostering analytical and practical learning skills. Prior to joining SRM, she served as Assistant Professor at Jaya Engineering College, gaining valuable experience in Postgraduate teaching, curriculum development and academic administration.

She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Computer Science and her research interests include Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, and Natural Language Processing. Her research contributions include publications in indexed journals, conference presentations, and scholarly work focusing on personalized information retrieval, artificial intelligence, deep learning.

As an educator, she adopts a student-centered and outcome-based teaching approach by integrating active learning strategies, collaborative learning, experiential activities, project-based learning, and technology-enabled instruction. She emphasizes practical implementation, research orientation, problem-solving, and continuous learning to create an engaging and industry-relevant academic environment. She actively participates in faculty development programs, workshops, certifications, and professional activities to enrich both teaching and research practices.
