Bio

Dr. V. Jayalakshmi brings over 14 years of combined academic and industry experience to SRM Institute of Science and Technology. After earning her Ph.D. and Postdoctoral Fellowship, she has built a distinguished career in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Big Data Analytics, combining high-quality teaching with impactful research.

She believes that effective learning is achieved through innovation, hands-on practice, and research-driven problem solving. Her teaching approach encourages students to apply theoretical concepts to real-world challenges through projects, interdisciplinary collaboration, and emerging AI technologies, fostering both technical competence and critical thinking.

Throughout her career, Dr. Jayalakshmi has co-authored seven books and four book chapters, published numerous research papers in SCI, Scopus-indexed, and UGC CARE journals, and holds eight patents. She actively mentors students and researchers, organizes academic events, and contributes to advancing AI-driven solutions that address real-world challenges.
