The Department of Computer Science (AI & ML), School of Applied Sciences, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a Journal Club session titled "From Reading to Research: The Journey Begins" on 06.08.2026 in online mode, featuring Dr. Umadevi Ramamoorthy, Associate Professor, CMR University, Bengaluru, who guided faculty, research scholars, and students through effective journal reading, critical analysis, and the transition from literature review to formulating research ideas—inspiring participants to strengthen their research mindset, critical thinking, and academic writing skills for future scholarly pursuits.

Orientation Program

The Department of AI & ML at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram organized a First Year Orientation Program on 9th–10th July 2026, welcoming 350 newly admitted students with sessions from industry experts—Mr. V. Gokulakannan (CTS), Mr. Veera Sanjaykumar (Accenture), Mr. Sugumar (Kinaxis), and Ms. Abhithaa C (Citi Corp Services)—who shared insights on emerging technologies, career planning, and essential technical and communication skills, inspiring students to build a strong foundation for their academic and professional journey.

The Faculty Industry Immersion Program on “Exploring Real-Time Machine Learning Applications in Industry” provided faculty members with valuable exposure to industry practices in Machine Learning, Software Development, and IoT technologies. The visit enhanced their understanding of real-world applications, emerging industry trends, internship and consultancy opportunities, and strengthened academia-industry collaboration, enabling them to better align academic learning with current industry requirements.
