Summary of the Program

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, successfully organized a First Year Orientation Program on 9th and 10th July 2026. The program was designed to welcome newly admitted students and provide them with valuable insights into academic life, career opportunities, and the latest industry trends in Artificial Intelligence and related technologies. It served as an excellent platform to motivate students, bridge the gap between academia and industry, and help them understand the expectations of the professional world.

The orientation featured distinguished industry experts as guest speakers, including Mr.V.Gokulakannan, Technical Architect, CTS Chennai; Mr. Veera Sanjaykumar, Packaged Application Development Analyst, Accenture Chennai; Mr. Sugumar, Delivery Director, Kinaxis Chennai; and Ms. Abhithaa C, Infrastructure Technology Specialist, Citi Corp Services Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. Through their interactive sessions, the speakers shared their professional experiences, discussed emerging technologies, emphasized the importance of technical skills, communication, continuous learning, and career planning, inspiring the first-year students to build a strong foundation for their academic journey and future careers in the IT industry

The First Year Orientation Program was a meaningful initiative that provided students with an inspiring start to their academic journey at the Department of AI & ML, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram. By bringing together accomplished professionals from leading multinational companies, the program exposed students to real-world industry practices, emerging technologies, and career opportunities. The interactive sessions encouraged students to develop a growth mindset, strengthen their technical and interpersonal skills, and actively participate in academic and co-curricular activities, laying a strong foundation for their personal and professional development.

In this event 350 students from SRM Ramapuram participated. The students were attentive during the sessions and cleared their doubts.
