Shanmuga Nathan has over 14 years of professional and academic experience, including two years in the television industry, ten years as a faculty member at Anna University, and two years in the Department of Film Technology at SRM Institute of Science and Technology. His expertise spans television production, film studies, editing, photography, screenplay writing, health communication, and media research.

As an educator, he emphasizes experiential learning through practical assignments, workshops, and industry-oriented training. He has published numerous research papers in Scopus-indexed, UGC CARE-listed, and peer-reviewed journals, contributing significantly to the fields of media, communication, and film studies.
