Dr. V. Bhanu Rekha is a Professor and researcher with over 26 years of academic and entrepreneurial experience in fashion and textile education. Her expertise lies in sustainable textiles, functional apparel, technical textiles, and innovation-driven curriculum development, with a strong focus on industry-oriented teaching and research.

Bio

Dr. V. Bhanu Rekha has more than 26 years of experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and entrepreneurship in Fashion Technology. She is currently serving as Professor and Head at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram. Throughout her career she has contributed to curriculum development, accreditation, research, industry collaboration, and student mentoring.

Her research focuses on sustainable textiles, agro-waste fibre utilization, absorbent hygiene products, functional and technical textiles, nonwovens, smart textiles, AI applications in textiles, and 3D printing. She has published research papers in reputed journals, authored book chapters, guided research scholars, secured funded projects, and filed patents. She is deeply committed to fostering outcome-based learning and guided students to establish their own sustainable brand initiatives. She believes in experiential learning, innovation, and sustainability, encouraging students to solve real-world problems through design thinking and research.
