Bio

Dr. Sridevi Thangavel is an experienced academician and researcher with more than two decades of teaching experience in higher education. She is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Language, Culture and Society at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai. She earned her Ph.D. in English Literature from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University with a specialisation in Feminist Writing.

Her areas of expertise include Indian English Literature, Diasporic Studies, Environmental Literature, Cultural Studies, Ecocriticism and Trauma Studies. She has published numerous research papers in peer-reviewed, Scopus, WoS and UGC CARE-listed journals and has actively contributed to national and international conferences.

Dr. Sridevi strongly believes in interdisciplinary and student-centred learning. She has guided more than 25 UG and PG projects, supervised five M.Phil. scholars, produced one Ph.D. scholar and is currently guiding six doctoral researchers. She has also organised international conferences, seminars and faculty development programmes and has significantly contributed to academic administration and quality assurance initiatives.
