Dr. Sharmila is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Designing at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram. She holds a Ph.D. in Costume Design and Fashion and has a strong academic background in fashion design, textiles, apparel production, and garment technology. Throughout her academic career, she has been committed to enhancing both her teaching and research, with a focus on bridging theoretical concepts and practical applications.

Her areas of expertise include apparel design, textile innovation, sustainable fashion, garment quality, and fashion research. Passionate about exploring contemporary trends and encouraging innovation through research and industry-oriented learning. She actively supports students in developing technical competence, creativity, and problem-solving skills essential for the fashion industry.

As an educator, Dr. Sharmila believes in creating an engaging, interactive, and inclusive learning environment.
