Bio

Dr. Harini is an Assistant Professor of English in the Department of Sciences and Humanities at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST). A passionate teacher, researcher, and academician, she specializes in English Literature with interdisciplinary research interests in Eco-Studies, Indigenous Studies, Tribal Studies, Indian Literature, and Native American Literature. She holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (2025), along with a Postgraduate Diploma in English Language Teaching (PGDELT) from Annamalai University and postgraduate from Ethiraj College for Women and undergraduate degree from Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women in English Literature.

With over three years of teaching experience and four years of research experience, Dr. Harini is committed to advancing literary scholarship through innovative teaching and impactful research. Her publications in UGC CARE and Scopus-indexed journals explore themes such as ecocriticism, indigenous knowledge systems, migration, mythology, and tribal narratives. She has presented research at several prestigious national and international conferences in India and abroad.

Her academic contributions have been recognized with the "சிந்தனைச் செம்மல் விருது" from Shinawatra University, Thailand (2026), for the Best Research Article and the Scholarly Excellence Award at the Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women Alumnae Meet 2026. She actively engages in faculty development programmes, workshops, and MOOCs, including earning ELITE certification in NPTEL's Tribal Studies in India: Interdisciplinary Perspectives and Approaches. Through her teaching and research, she strives to cultivate critical thinking, interdisciplinary inquiry, and socially responsible scholarship.
