SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:

 

The Information Security Education Program was organized by the Department of Computer Applications (BCA) in association with the NSS Unit on 5th December 2025, in connection with the celebration of World Computer Literacy Day. The program was conducted at Block V, 4th Floor, Lab–2 from 2.00 PM to 3.00 PM.

The event aimed to create awareness among students about information security, cyber safety, responsible digital behavior, and safe internet practices. A total of 123 students responses the Google sheet, 98 students responses their willingness for participation, 55 students actively participated in the program.

The session emphasized the importance of digital literacy, online security, cyber threats, and ethical use of technology, aligning with the objectives of the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

Objective

•         To create awareness about information security and cyber safety among students.

•         To educate students on safe online practices and digital responsibility.

•         To encourage students to become responsible digital citizens.

•         To promote awareness about World Computer Literacy Day and its significance.

•         To motivate students to actively participate in national cyber awareness initiatives.

Program Highlights

•  Faculty members explained key concepts related to information security, cyber threats, and online safety.

•  Students were guided on safe password practices, phishing awareness, data protection, and responsible internet usage.

•  As part of the ISEA – Cyber Jagrit Bharat initiative, students were instructed to take the Online Cyber Security Pledge.

•  All participants successfully completed the online pledge through the ISEA official website and received Cyber Jagrit Bharat Pledge Certificates issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.

•  The session encouraged students to spread cyber awareness among peers and the community, fulfilling the objectives of NSS.

OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM: (Based of SDG)

•  Students gained awareness about information security and cyber hygiene.

•  Participants understood the importance of safe digital behavior and online responsibility.

•  Students actively engaged in the Cyber Jagrit Bharat Student Pledge and received government-recognized certificates.

•  The program successfully enhanced students’ understanding of cyber safety and digital literacy, supporting national cyber awareness goals.
