The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, School of Media Studies, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Ramapuram Campus, organised an outreach programme titled “Visual Odyssey – Film Appreciation” at Heartfulness International School, Omega, on 31st July 2026. The session introduced students to the fundamentals of filmmaking, storytelling, cinematography, sound, editing, character development, and the role of cinema in society.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from 25 students of Classes 6 and 7, along with teachers and coordinators. Through interactive discussions and activities, students explored the language of cinema and developed a deeper appreciation of visual storytelling.

The initiative promoted media literacy, critical thinking, and creative engagement with cinema, while also strengthening meaningful academic and community outreach between the two institutions.
