SYNOPSIS OF THE EVENT :

The Pongal celebration was organised to commemorate the harvest festival and to promote cultural pride, unity, and festive spirit among students and faculty. The event commenced with organised reporting and pre-event preparations, followed by an engaging on-stage programme that began with a warm welcome by the Master of Ceremonies, setting the tone for the celebration. Traditional performances such as Thappattam and Oyilattam highlighted Tamil cultural heritage, while the ceremonial lighting of the lamp symbolised prosperity and new beginnings. Interactive activities including Uriyadi, Lemon-in-the-Spoon, and balloon games encouraged active participation from both students and faculty, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere. Energetic music band performances, multiple dance team presentations, and the Silambam attam added vibrancy and showcased students’ talents. The celebration concluded with diverse student performances and a vote of thanks, marking the event as a well-coordinated and joyful occasion that successfully strengthened cultural harmony and community bonding on campus.
