The Department of Visual Communication & Film Technology, School of Media Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a Workshop titled “Navarasa” on 5th March 2026 at 09:30 AM. The session was conducted for 60 participants and focused on the concept of Navarasa, a fundamental principle in Indian performing arts that explores the nine human emotions expressed in storytelling and acting.

The workshop was delivered by Mr. Rohith Muralidharan, Actor known for his work in the movie Dragon. He shared valuable insights into acting techniques, emotional expression, and performance skills relevant to film and media students. The session emphasized the importance of understanding emotions in cinema and helped students gain practical knowledge on portraying expressions effectively in visual storytelling, making it an engaging and enriching learning experience.

The programme was convened by Dr. V. Prabakaran (Head, Media Studies). The event was arranged and coordinated by Dr. D. Saravanan, with the support of the Rectangle Film Club and student volunteers, ensuring the successful execution of the workshop.
