The School of Media Studies, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, successfully organized a 7-Day Professional Development Programme from 17 to 24 February 2026. The programme, titled "Media in the AI Era: Innovation, Ethics and Industry Transformation," was conducted at the Preview Theatre. It brought together eminent media professionals and industry experts to share their knowledge and experiences. Distinguished speakers included RJ Suresh (Hello FM), investigative journalist Ms. Sandhya Ravishankar, lifestyle journalist Ms. Sangeetha P, former foreign correspondent at The Hindu Dr. Sridhar Krishnaswami, Dr. Nelson Mandela, Mr. Karthikeyan, and Ms. Ravoofa. The sessions covered topics such as journalism, digital storytelling, media ethics, immersive media, virtual and augmented reality, visual effects, and entrepreneurship. Participants gained practical insights into the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on the media industry. The programme encouraged discussions on innovation, ethical practices, and future media trends. It also provided valuable opportunities for interaction with renowned professionals. Overall, the programme enriched participants with industry-relevant knowledge and prepared them for the evolving AI-driven media landscape.
