The Department of Fashion Designing, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology – Ramapuram, organized an Industrial Visit to Link Up Textile Pvt. Ltd. (Unit 2), Sriperumbudur on 27 February 2025 for 30 students. During the visit, students observed the complete garment manufacturing process, including raw material procurement, fabric cutting, stitching, printing, dyeing, finishing, and quality control. They gained valuable insights into the use of advanced machinery, automation, and technology that improve production efficiency while maintaining high quality standards. The company also demonstrated its commitment to sustainability through the use of Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton, eco-friendly dyes, waste reduction measures, and responsible manufacturing practices. The visit effectively bridged theoretical concepts with industrial applications, helping students understand the importance of innovation, quality management, and sustainable production in the global apparel industry. Overall, the program was highly informative and well received, enhancing students' technical knowledge, industry awareness, and career preparedness in the fashion and textile sector.
