The Department of Language, Culture & Society, Faculty of Science and Humanities, successfully organized an Industry Expert Talk titled “From Words to World: Careers and Contemporary Practices in the Editorial Industry” on 23rd February 2026 at S Block, Room No. B4.
The session was delivered by Ms. Ayisha, Co-Founder of Lush Business Solutions, Chennai. The resource person shared valuable industry-oriented insights into the evolving landscape of editorial professions and contemporary publishing practices.
Ms. Ayisha provided a comprehensive overview of career opportunities available for English graduates in the editorial and content industry, including roles in publishing, digital media, content development, proofreading, copyediting, and corporate communications. She emphasized the growing demand for skilled language professionals in both traditional publishing houses and emerging digital platforms. The talk highlighted practical aspects such as editorial workflows, client communication, content strategy, and the integration of technology in modern editorial practices. Real-world examples from professional experience enabled students to understand industry expectations, workplace ethics, and essential skills required for career readiness.
