The Department of Fashion Designing, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology – Ramapuram, organized a three-day industrial visit to Bengaluru from 3 September 2024 to 7 September 2024, with 53 students participating. During the visit, students explored three renowned organizations—Central Silk Board, Texport Overseas Pvt. Ltd., and Shahi Exports—to gain practical insights into different sectors of the textile and apparel industry. At the Central Silk Board, students learned about sericulture, silk processing, weaving techniques, and quality control standards. At Texport Overseas, they observed garment manufacturing processes, design and sampling, quality assurance, and export procedures. The visit to Shahi Exports provided exposure to large-scale apparel production, automation, sustainable manufacturing practices, employee welfare initiatives, and global compliance standards. Interactions with industry professionals enabled students to understand current market trends, technological advancements, and career opportunities in the fashion and textile sector. Overall, the industrial visit was an enriching experiential learning experience that strengthened students' practical skills, industry awareness, appreciation for sustainable manufacturing, and preparedness for future careers in fashion, textiles, and apparel
