Event Highlights

The Department of Language, Culture and Society, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus, inaugurated its literary and cultural clubs, Language Elites and Sangamam, on 31 July 2026 at Block V Gallery Hall III. The ceremony marked the beginning of a new academic year of student-centric activities aimed at enhancing language proficiency, literary appreciation, cultural awareness, and leadership skills. Faculty members and students attended the programme with great enthusiasm, making the inauguration a memorable occasion.

The event was graced by Mr. K. Shantharam, News Reader and Script Writer at Sri Venkateswara Bhakthi Channel, as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, he emphasized the importance of effective communication, ethical journalism, and creative expression in today's dynamic world. He encouraged students to cultivate strong reading, writing, and public speaking skills while actively participating in literary and cultural initiatives to prepare themselves for future academic and professional opportunities.

The inauguration successfully introduced the vision and objectives of Language Elites and Sangamam as platforms for holistic student development. A key highlight of the programme was the formal induction of members into the Journal Club, Theatre Club, Quiz Club, Book Review Club, Movie Club, Social Responsibility Club, Personality Club, Cultural and Heritage Club, Commemorative Club, And Tamil Sangamam through representation of club badges, symbolising the official commencement of their activities. The programme inspired students to engage in debates, creative writing, public speaking, cultural events, and interdisciplinary learning activities throughout the academic year.

Overall, the event reinforced the department's commitment to fostering intellectual growth, creativity, collaboration, and lifelong learning in alignment with the goals of quality education and sustainable development.
