The Department of Commerce, School of Humanities, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, organised an NSS Awareness Programme titled “Say No to Drugs – Draw Your Voice, Write Your Choice” on 25 August 2026, Tuesday, from 10.00 AM to 12.30 PM at the East Block.

The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The event encouraged students to express their thoughts, opinions, and awareness messages creatively through drawing and writing activities.

Students actively participated and used their creativity to communicate powerful messages against drug abuse. The programme provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the consequences of substance addiction and understand the importance of making positive life choices. The event successfully promoted the message of “Choose Health, Choose Life” and encouraged students to become responsible individuals who can contribute towards building a drug-free campus and society. The programme also reinforced the importance of awareness, prevention, and collective action in addressing substance abuse among young people.

Outcome of the event is to developed a better understanding of the harmful physical, psychological, and social effects of drug abuse among students and Participants were encouraged to make conscious and responsible choices towards a healthy lifestyle. The drawing and writing activities enabled students to express their views creatively on the issue of substance abuse.  The programme promoted awareness and discussion about the importance of preventing drug addiction among young people. Students were motivated to act as peer ambassadors in spreading the message of a drug-free society.  The programme strengthened social responsibility and encouraged students to contribute towards society.
