Zyren 2k26 (24 Hours Hackathon)

SUMMARY OF THE EVENT

  • The Department of Cyber Security, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, successfully organized ZYREN’26 – A 24 Hours Hackathon on 16th and 17th March 2026. The event aimed to foster innovation, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities among students by providing a competitive platform to develop real-world cybersecurity and technology-based solutions.
  • The event commenced with the Invocation (Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu), setting a respectful and positive tone for the hackathon.
  • The session formally began with the Welcome Address delivered by J. Jebamalar Tamilselvi, Head of the Department of Cyber Security. In her address, she highlighted the importance of hackathons in enhancing practical knowledge, teamwork, and creativity among students in the field of emerging technologies.
  • Following the welcome address, Dr. S. Thirumagan, Dean, Faculty of Science and Humanities, delivered the Presidential Address. He encouraged students to actively participate, think innovatively, and utilize such opportunities to showcase their technical talents and entrepreneurial
  • The Chief Guest, Nixon Ebenezer, Founder & Director, TechKnots, Chennai, was then formally introduced and honored as a mark of respect and appreciation for his presence.
  • During his Special Address, Mr. Nixon Ebenezer delivered an insightful talk on innovation, cybersecurity trends, and the importance of continuous learning in the tech He motivated students to think beyond conventional ideas and emphasized the significance of practical implementation and teamwork in solving real-world problems.
  • The event was further strengthened by the presence of the judges, Mr. Annamalai K M (Deep Learning | NLP | IoT Robotics | Drone Engineer) and Mr. Rishi Kumar S (AI & IoT Educator & Practitioner), TechKnots, They evaluated the participants’ projects based on innovation, feasibility, technical complexity, and presentation.
  • The hackathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who worked continuously for 24 hours, demonstrating creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence while developing innovative solutions.
  • The selective teams from Day 1 qualified for the next day, advancing to the final round of the hackathon based on their performance and innovation.
  • The presentations of the students were conducted, where the shortlisted teams showcased their projects and explained their ideas, implementation, and outcomes before the panel of judges.
  • The event was effectively hosted by Rehan Alam from 3rd Year Cyber Security and Priya Dharshini from 1st Year Cyber Security, who ensured smooth coordination and engagement throughout the program.
  • The Chief guest introduction was read by V.Jayalakshmi.
  • The program concluded with the announcement of winners, followed by the distribution of cash prizes, which were awarded by the judges along with the Head of the Department, recognizing the outstanding performances and innovative ideas of the participants.
  • The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Jenifer . V , expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, judges, dignitaries, faculty members, and participants for their valuable contributions to the success of the
