The Industrial Visit to Sri Santhana Krishna Silks, Kanchipuram, was conducted on 27 February 2025 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with the objective of bridging classroom learning with real-world industrial practices. Students observed the complete silk saree production process, including silk yarn selection, dyeing, warping, handloom weaving, zari work, finishing, and quality inspection. The management also explained the heritage and significance of Kanchipuram silk in the textile industry. Through interactions with skilled artisans, students gained valuable insights into traditional weaving techniques, quality standards, sustainability practices, and the business aspects of silk production. The visit successfully achieved its learning objectives, with positive feedback from participants, making it an informative and enriching experience that strengthened both technical knowledge and appreciation for India's handloom heritage.
