SUMMARY OF THE EVENT

The Skill Elevation Club, under the PG Department of Computer Applications (MCA), School of Applied Science, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, successfully organized a Placement Readiness Session titled "From Campus to Infosys – A Success Journey" on 03 August 2026 through Google Meet. The session was conducted with the objective of enhancing students' placement preparedness by providing first-hand industry insights and practical guidance on securing employment in leading IT organizations. The programme aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations while motivating students to develop the technical, analytical, and professional competencies required for successful campus placements.

The session was delivered by Mr. Hemanth M, Digital Specialist Engineer at Infosys and an MCA Generative AI Alumnus (2024–2026 Batch) of SRMIST, Ramapuram. Drawing from his recent placement experience and professional journey, he shared valuable insights into the Infosys recruitment process, including aptitude assessments, coding rounds, technical interviews, and HR interviews. He emphasized the importance of strengthening programming fundamentals, problem-solving abilities, database management systems, communication skills, resume preparation, and continuous learning through certifications and technical projects. The speaker also familiarized students with the corporate work environment, industry expectations, and career growth opportunities in the IT sector.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from II MCA and MCA Generative AI students, who actively engaged throughout the session. The interactive question-and-answer segment enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding placement strategies, interview preparation, internships, career planning, and emerging technologies. The practical suggestions and motivational experiences shared by the resource person significantly enhanced students' confidence and inspired them to prepare systematically for upcoming campus recruitment drives. Session Highlights

The Placement Readiness Session was highly interactive and informative, providing students with valuable insights into the campus recruitment process at Infosys. Mr. Hemanth M shared his personal journey from being an MCA Generative AI student at SRMIST to securing a position as a Digital Specialist Engineer at Infosys with a CTC of ₹6.25 LPA. He explained each stage of the recruitment process, including aptitude tests, coding assessments, technical interviews, and HR interviews, while offering practical tips to excel at every stage. The speaker emphasized the importance of strengthening programming fundamentals, data structures, database management systems, problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and resume building. He also highlighted the significance of internships, industry-recognized certifications, continuous learning, and effective project presentations in enhancing employability.
