The Department of Language, Culture and Society, under the banner of its academic club "The Language Elites - The Book Review Club," successfully organised a Book Review Forum on September 11, 2026, at the AV Hall, Block V. The event aimed to cultivate a vibrant reading culture, enhance critical thinking, and encourage analytical literary discussions among undergraduate and postgraduate students of English Literature.

The forum featured two engaging book review sessions presented by esteemed faculty and student reviewers:

1. Reviewer 1: Dr. G. Rajendran, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, F-LABS, SRM IST, Ramapuram, presented a insightful review of the book "Anna Atchiyai Piditha Varalaru" authored by Arunan. He offered a compelling critical perspective on the socio-political narrative and historical relevance of the work.
2. Reviewer 2: Ms. Pavithra P Menon, I M.A. English, Department of LCS, F-LABS, SRM IST, Ramapuram, delivered an engaging review of the novel "Days at the Morisaki Bookshop" by Satoshi Yagisawa. She highlighted the thematic depth, emotional resonance, and literary charm of Japanese contemporary fiction.

The presentations were followed by an interactive Q&A session where B.A. and M.A. English students actively engaged with the reviewers, discussing narrative techniques, character arcs, and core literary themes. The event concluded with an expression of gratitude to the management, department heads, reviewers, and student participants for making the forum an intellectual success.
