The Department of Fashion Designing, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a Faculty Immersion Program titled “The Art and Science of Weaving” on 27th September 2025 at Shuttles and Needles, Adyar.

The program aimed to provide hands-on exposure and pedagogical insights into the intricate process of weaving. Faculty members explored creative techniques, weaving tools, and fabric construction methods, enhancing their technical knowledge and practical skills. The session encouraged collaborative learning, creative exploration, and skill enrichment in line with sustainable textile practices.

The immersion experience proved highly beneficial, bridging the gap between traditional craft techniques and modern educational approaches, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals of quality education and innovation in textile design.
