The Freshers’ Induction Program for the 2026–2027 batch was successfully conducted on 8 July 2026 at SRM IST, Ramapuram, with approximately 2,500 first-year students in attendance. The program began with Tamizhthai Vazhthu and the lighting of the kuthuvilakku, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Sakthiganesh, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Humanities. Dr. N. Sethuraman, Chief Director, and Dr. R. Shivakumar, Chairman of SRM Group of Institutions, addressed the students, emphasizing academic excellence, discipline, and responsibility.

The highlight of the event was the interactive inaugural address by Ms. Kanchan Khedkar, Head HR, HCL GUVI, who inspired students to embrace lifelong learning and administered an induction-day oath promoting commitment and ethical values. Dr. R. Balabhaskar, Deputy Dean (Administration), introduced the Heads of Departments, and Dr. V. Saravanan, Deputy Dean (Academics), delivered the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the National Anthem, providing a warm and inspiring start to the students' academic journey.
