Anna Centenary Library Visit

The Department of Visual Communication, Faculty of Science & Humanities, SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Ramapuram, organised an educational visit to the Anna Centenary Library, Kotturpuram, Chennai, on 16 July 2026. The visit was conducted for 17 students of M.Sc. Visual Communication – Second Year under the guidance of Dr. V. Prabakaran, Head of Media Studies, with Dr. Salai Tamilarasan S., Assistant Professor, serving as the staff coordinator.

The students assembled at the library at 9:00 a.m. and explored its extensive collections, reading spaces, reference sections, digital resources, and other modern facilities. The visit provided students with an opportunity to understand the importance of libraries as centres for learning, research, knowledge sharing, and independent academic exploration.

During the visit, students explored different sections of the library based on their academic interests. They gained exposure to books, journals, reference materials, digital resources, and modern information facilities. The experience encouraged them to move beyond the traditional classroom environment and engage independently with a wide range of knowledge resources.

The visit concluded at 4:00 p.m. and provided the students with a meaningful experiential learning opportunity. It enhanced their understanding of the role of libraries in supporting education, research, self-learning, and intellectual development.
