SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:

The Department of Biotechnology, School of Applied Science, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Anti-Ragging Cell, successfully organized an Anti-Ragging Awareness & Pledging Programme on 21 August 2026 for the II B.Sc. Biotechnology students. The programme focused on sensitizing students to the adverse effects of ragging and promoting a safe, respectful, inclusive and supportive campus environment. As part of the programme, students took the UGC Student Pledge Against Ragging, committing themselves to uphold dignity, safety and mutual respect; reject physical, verbal, psychological and digital forms of ragging; support those affected; report violations; and comply fully with UGC anti-ragging regulations. Dr. R. Vinoth Kumar, Anti-ragging committee member (Biotechnology) has created awareness among students on the steps to be taken in reporting any issue of ragging in the campus premises.
