Industrial Visit – Lotte India

Summary Of Event:

The Department of Commerce (PA, ISM & IAF), Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus, organized an Industrial Visit to LOTTE, located in Thiruvallur District, on 17 June 2026 for the students of B.Com PA, ISM, and IAF programmes. The visit was designed to provide students with firsthand exposure to the operational and managerial practices of a leading multinational food and beverage manufacturing company. During the visit, students observed various stages of the production process, including raw material handling, manufacturing, packaging, quality assurance, warehousing, and distribution activities. Industry professionals briefed the participants on operational efficiency, quality management systems, workplace safety measures, and technological advancements implemented within the organization. Students gained valuable insights into supply chain management, inventory control, logistics, and sustainable manufacturing practices adopted by the company. The interaction with industry experts helped students understand the practical applications of concepts studied in commerce and management courses while enhancing their awareness of industry expectations and career prospects. The industrial visit served as an effective platform for experiential learning, enabling students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical industrial applications. The event significantly contributed to their professional development by fostering industry exposure, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of contemporary business operations

Objective of the Event:

 To provide students with practical exposure to industrial operations and manufacturing processes in the food and beverage sector.  To bridge the gap between classrooms learning and real-world business practices through experiential learning.  To familiarize students with production planning, inventory management, quality control, and supply chain operations followed by a multinational corporation.  To enhance students' understanding of organizational structure, workplace culture, and industry standards.  To expose students to modern technologies, automation, and sustainable practices adopted in manufacturing industries
