The Department of Computer Science and Applications (MCA), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized the Launch of the Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security on 18.09.2024 at Gallery Hall 3. The event was convened by Dr. N. Krishnamoorthy under the guidance of Dr. D. Kanchana, Program Coordinator, MCA. The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. J. Dhilipan, Vice Principal – Admin and Head, CSA, who highlighted the importance of cyber security as a specialization and emphasized the growing need for skilled professionals in the field. Dr. C. Sundar, Dean, FSH, felicitated the gathering and stressed the relevance of cyber awareness in today’s digital world.

The chief guests, Mr. Santhosh Challuvadi, CEO of Supraja Technologies, and Mr. Vinod Senthil T, Founder of infySEC, delivered expert sessions on cyber security opportunities, tools, technologies, and real-world cyber threats. Mr. Santhosh spoke about the importance of research and development in cyber security and encouraged students to explore the field deeply. Mr. Vinod shared practical insights on mobile security, cyber attack prevention, and safe online practices, stressing the importance of awareness and prevention.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and raising queries related to cyber security careers and challenges. The dignitaries officially launched the Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security, marking a major milestone for the department. The event strengthened awareness about cyber threats, promoted industry-oriented learning, and inspired students to pursue cyber security as a promising career path. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. N. Krishnamoorthy.
