SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:
The Department of Commerce, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized E.V.O.L.V.E ‘26 for first-year B.Com students on 02 February 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Gallery Hall I.
The event aimed to promote student interaction, creativity, business awareness, and communication skills through engaging and knowledge-based activities aligned with modern commerce learning and professional development.
As part of the program, several interactive and competitive events were conducted, including:
- JAM (Just A Minute) – enhancing spontaneous speaking and confidence.
- Facts and One Lie – encouraging analytical thinking and peer interaction.
- Guess the Celebrity – testing awareness and quick thinking.
- Wrong Answer Only – promoting creativity and humor in responses.
- AdZap – allowing students to showcase marketing and advertising creativity.
- Business Pictionary – improving understanding of business concepts through visual communication.
These activities created an energetic and collaborative environment, helping students engage actively while learning important business-related skills.
Takeaways:
The event provided students with an engaging platform to enhance their communication, creativity, and teamwork skills through interactive and business-oriented activities. Participants developed confidence in public speaking, improved their quick-thinking and problem-solving abilities, and gained a better understanding of business and marketing concepts in a practical and enjoyable manner. The sessions encouraged collaboration, active participation, and innovative thinking, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with real-world application while fostering enthusiasm for future academic and professional growth in the field of commerce.

SDG 4 Quality Education: The program supported Quality Education by offering students experiential and activity-based learning opportunities that strengthened communication, analytical thinking, and business awareness. Through interactive events, students gained practical exposure beyond textbooks, encouraging confidence, creativity, and collaborative learning essential for holistic academic development.
SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth: The program contributed to Decent Work and Economic Growth by introducing students to business-oriented activities that enhanced employability skills, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking. These experiences motivated students to understand workplace expectations and develop competencies required for future career and economic participation.
SDG 9 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: The activities conducted encouraged innovation and creative problem-solving, particularly through marketing and business simulation events like AdZap and Business Pictionary. Students were exposed to practical business ideas and innovative thinking, helping them understand how creativity and innovation support industrial and economic development.
SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities: The event promoted collaboration, responsible thinking, and community engagement among students, preparing them to contribute positively to sustainable economic and social development. By fostering teamwork and awareness of responsible business practices, the program encouraged students to become socially responsible future professionals who can support sustainable community growth.
