The Faculty of Management, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus, celebrated Pongal 2026 with traditional rituals and cultural activities at the PG Block on 12 and 13 January 2026. The event was organized as part of Campus Life initiatives to promote cultural awareness, student participation, and festive spirit on campus. The celebrations began with Pongal competitions on 12 January, where students took part in Kolam, Dance, and Pot Decoration events. The competitions reflected the creativity, teamwork, and cultural enthusiasm of the participants. The main celebration was held on 13 January, starting with the preparation of Sakkarai Pongal, special pooja, and traditional rituals. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Chairman, Dr. R. Shivakumar, who participated in the ceremonies and the traditional pot-breaking ritual. He was welcomed by the Dean, Dr. S. Praveen Kumar; the Head of the Department, Dr. R. Arulmoli; and the Campus Life Coordinators, Dr. P. Subha and Mr. S. Jaswanth. The cultural segment included Silambattam, Bharatanatyam, and an electric guitar performance, creating a lively and memorable Pongal celebration on campus.
