Bridge Course on Information System Management

Event Summary

The Department of Commerce – PA, ISM, IAF & SF under the Faculty of Science & Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a Bridge Course on Information System Management for first-year Commerce students on 13 July 2026, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Room No. 104.

The programme was designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of Information System Management and its role in modern business operations. The sessions aimed to bridge the gap between academic concepts and industry practices by enhancing students' knowledge of digital commerce, business analytics, information systems, and critical thinking.

The course featured three expert sessions:

·        Ms. S. Nandhini, Assistant Professor, delivered a session on "Business and Digital Commerce", highlighting the evolution of digital business models, e-commerce, and the impact of technology on commercial activities.

·        Dr. S. Kannamudiyar, Assistant Professor, presented "Business Analytics and Information Systems", explaining the importance of data-driven decision-making, business analytics tools, and information systems in organizational success.

·        Dr. M. Harish, Assistant Professor, concluded the programme with "Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving for Business", focusing on analytical thinking, decision-making strategies, and practical approaches to solving business challenges.

The bridge course witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Commerce – PA, ISM, IAF & SF. The interactive sessions, practical insights, and engaging discussions helped students gain a strong foundation in Information System Management and prepared them for their academic journey in commerce and business studies.

The programme concluded successfully with positive feedback from the participants, who appreciated the relevance of the topics and the valuable guidance provided by the resource persons.
