The TALKIES – National Conference 2026 was successfully organized on 28 March 2026 by the School of Media Studies, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology. The conference focused on the theme "Media and Public Discourse: Power, Politics and the People." It witnessed enthusiastic participation from academicians, researchers, scholars, and students representing various institutions nationwide. Distinguished speakers, including Dr. G. Balasubramania Raja, Dr. Gnana D. Hans, and Dr. C. Velayutham, shared valuable academic and industry perspectives. Their sessions highlighted the evolving role of media in shaping public opinion and democratic discourse. The conference encouraged meaningful discussions on media ethics, politics, and public engagement. A significant highlight was the announcement of a research collaboration with the Skodhkosh Journal of Visual and Performing Arts for publishing selected conference papers. This initiative provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their research on a wider academic platform.
