SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:

The Department of Biotechnology, School of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Business Studies, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a Journal Club discussion on “Beyond the Bench: Innovation, Translational Research and the Future of Biotechnology” on 15 August 2026 from 3 PM to 4 PM. The session was moderator by Dr. R. Vinoth Kumar, Journal Club coordinator.  The I M.Sc Biotechnology students have actively reviewed and discussed key themes highlighted in the Biotech Conclave 2026 newspaper coverage, including emerging biotechnology frontiers, translational research, biopharmaceutical innovation, accessibility of biotechnology, genetic data protection, and challenges faced by the biotechnology industry. The session encouraged students to critically analyze current developments, understand the societal and ethical dimensions of biotechnology, and explore opportunities for translating scientific advances into sustainable and impactful solutions.
