The Guest Lecture on “From Idea to Innovation: A Practical Roadmap for Building Successful Startup” was organised by the PG Department of Computer Applications, Faculty of Science & Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, to inspire students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and understand the practical journey of transforming innovative ideas into successful startup ventures. The event aimed to provide valuable insights into ideation, innovation, problem identification, business planning, execution, and strategies for building sustainable and successful startups.
The session commenced with a welcome address delivered by the Head of the Department, Dr. Augusthiyar, Professor and Head. The resource person was introduced to the gathering by Dr. K. Kalaiselvi, Professor, Event Coordinator, followed by the felicitation and honouring of the distinguished guest by Deputy Dean (Research) Dr. Sivanesan Dhandayuthapani, Faculty of Science & Humanities.
The resource person for the session was Dr. C.R. Rene Robin, Professor & Dean (Innovation), Sai Ram Group of Institutions, Chennai, who shared his valuable expertise and practical experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup development.
Dr. Rene Robin highlighted various important aspects of the entrepreneurial journey, including identifying real-world problems, generating innovative ideas, understanding customer needs, validating solutions, developing effective business models, and transforming ideas into viable startup ventures. He emphasised the importance of creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, perseverance, and effective execution in achieving entrepreneurial success. The session provided students with a practical roadmap and encouraged them to explore innovation and entrepreneurship as potential career pathways.
Students actively engaged in the interactive session and gained valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities involved in establishing a startup. The event fostered an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit among the participants, motivating them to think creatively, identify societal challenges, and develop technology-driven solutions with real-world impact.
The programme concluded with an expression of gratitude to the resource person for sharing his valuable knowledge, practical insights, and inspirational guidance.
