Objective of the Events:

The primary objective is to provide students with a clear view with a comprehensive understanding of the evolving landscape of banking in the digital era. With businesses adopting advanced technologies and facing increasing compliance requirements, the field of Banking has transformed significantly. This program aims to highlight the latest tools, innovative techniques, and practical tactics that bankers can employ to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in banking services.

 

Day 1 – 09 March 2026

Resource Person: Mr. Sudhanidhi P. V

Designation: Senior Manager, Bank of Baroda, Chennai

Topic: Introduction to Banking System

The programme is commenced with the first session delivered by Mr. Sudhanidhi P. V. He explained the structure and evolution of the banking system in India. The session covered the functions of banks, role of commercial banks, central banking system, and the importance of financial institutions in economic development. Participants gained a clear understanding of how banks operate and their significance in supporting economic activities.

 

Day 2 – 10 March 2026

Resource Person: Ms. Shravanthi Premkumar

Designation: Advocate at the High Court of Judicature, Telangana & Hyderabad

Topic: Banker and Customer Relationship

The second day focused on the legal relationship between bankers and customers. The speaker discussed types of customers, rights and duties of bankers, confidentiality of customer accounts, and legal responsibilities of banks. Practical examples were shared to help participants understand the importance of trust and legal compliance in banking operations.

 

Day 3 – 11 March 2026

Topic: Negotiable Instruments – Cheque, Bills of Exchange, Promissory Note, Endorsement

On the fourth day, the session focused on negotiable instruments used in banking and financial transactions. The speaker explained the features, parties involved, and legal aspects of cheques, bills of exchange, and promissory notes. The concept of endorsement and its types was also discussed in detail. Real-life examples helped participants understand the practical usage of these instruments.

Topic: Loans and Advances – Types of Loans and Pledge

The fifth session dealt with bank lending practices and different types of loans and advances. The resource person explained secured and unsecured loans, pledge, hypothecation, and mortgage. The discussion also included loan appraisal procedures and risk management in lending activities. Participants gained valuable knowledge about how banks provide financial assistance to individuals and businesses

 

Day 6 – 14 March 2026

Topic: Digital Banking and Modern Services & Cyber Security

The sixth-day session focused on modern banking technologies and digital financial services. The speaker explained internet banking, mobile banking, digital payment systems, and fintech innovations. A major part of the session addressed cyber security threats and safety measures for digital transactions, helping participants understand the importance of secure digital banking practices.

 

Day 7 – 15 March 2026

Topic: Types of Bank Accounts

The final day session discussed the various types of bank accounts offered by banks, including savings accounts, current accounts, fixed deposits, and recurring deposits. The speaker explained the features, benefits, and suitability of each type of account. Participants were able to understand how customers can choose appropriate banking products based on their financial needs
