The Seed Ball Preparation and Dispersal Programme was conducted on 6 and 7 July 2026 with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and increasing green cover through a simple and sustainable afforestation technique. On the first day, students enthusiastically prepared seed balls using clay, fertile soil, organic manure, and seeds of indigenous tree species, including Neem, Peepal (Arasam), and Pungam. Faculty members explained the ecological importance of native trees, biodiversity conservation, and the role of seed balls in supporting natural regeneration.

On the second day, the prepared seed balls were dispersed in suitable locations, including temple premises, lake areas, and public parks, to encourage natural germination and contribute to the development of a greener ecosystem. The hands-on activity enabled students to learn through direct participation while strengthening teamwork, environmental responsibility, and community engagement.

The programme witnessed active involvement from both students and faculty members and successfully promoted sustainable environmental practices. The initiative also contributed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13 – Climate Action, SDG 15 – Life on Land, and SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Overall, the programme was a meaningful and engaging initiative that inspired students to become active contributors to environmental conservation and a greener future.

Note: The heading mentions “06th & 7th December 2026,” but the event highlights consistently state 6th and 7th July 2026. Based on the report content and Van Mahotsav Week, 6 and 7 July 2026 appears to be the intended date.
