The Department of Language, Culture and Society, Faculty of Science and Humanities, at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus, successfully organized a One Week International Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Research Tools and Techniques for Academic Excellence” from 2 March 2026 to 7 March 2026 in online mode. The FDP aimed to provide faculty members and research scholars with insights into contemporary research tools, effective research methodologies, ethical practices, and strategies for academic publication. The programme featured distinguished academicians and experts from reputed institutions who delivered insightful sessions on various aspects of research.

  • Day 1 (02.03.2026): Dr. M. Richard Robert Raa, Associate Professor, Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, delivered a session on “From Search to Publication: A Complete Toolkit for Research Scholars.”
  • Day 2 (03.03.2026): Dr. V. L. Jayapaul, Associate Professor and Head, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, presented “Research Design, Ethics, and Publication Strategies.”
  • Day 3 (04.03.2026): Dr. Maria Preethi Srinivasan, Associate Professor and Head, Queen Mary’s College, Chennai, conducted a session on “Connecting the Dots: Discovering Patterns.”
  • Day 4 (05.03.2026): Dr. K. S. Antonysamy, Former Head, Department of English, Loyola College, Chennai, spoke on “Systematic Literature Review and Reference Management Tools.”
  • Day 5 (06.03.2026): Dr. Thilip Kumar A/L Moorthy, Assistant Professor, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, Malaysia, delivered a lecture on “Essential Tools for Language Research.”
  • Day 6 (07.03.2026): Dr. P. Padmini, Associate Professor of English and Dean of Research, Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai, addressed the participants on “Developing Research Ideas for Effective Academic Writing.”

Each session offered valuable perspectives on research practices, literature review techniques, digital research tools, academic writing, and publication strategies. Participants actively engaged with the speakers through discussions and interactions.
