The Department of Computer Science and Applications (MCA), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus, organized a Contest on Poster Designing on 11.09.2024 from 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. at the PG Block, 6th Floor Lab. The event was conducted by the MCA Innovation Club under the convenorship of Dr. S. Meenakshi, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. J. Dhilipan, Professor and Head, CSA, Vice Principal – Admin, FSH, with the support of Dr. C. Sundar, Dean, FSH.

The competition was arranged to provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity, innovation, and presentation skills through poster designing. First-year MCA students actively participated in the event with great enthusiasm and interest. Various themes were given for the competition, including Musical Concert, Book Exhibition, Healthy Lifestyle, and College Culturals. Students came up with highly creative and visually appealing poster designs that reflected originality, imagination, and conceptual clarity.

The event highlighted the innovative talents of the students and encouraged them to express ideas effectively through art and design. The posters demonstrated not only creativity but also awareness of social, cultural, and lifestyle-related themes. The competition was judged by Dr. R. Agusthiyar, Professor, Department of MCA, and Dr. Subbaiah, Associate Professor, Department of MCA. Based on the quality, presentation, and originality of the posters, Jayasurya R secured the first place, Harish S won the second place, and the third place was shared by Hemanathan, Matheswaran, and Ramesh P.

The event turned out to be a successful and engaging activity that motivated students to think creatively and present ideas innovatively. It served as a valuable opportunity for participants to develop confidence, artistic expression, and communication skills. Overall, the Poster Designing Contest was a meaningful initiative of the Innovation Club that successfully nurtured creativity and student participation.
